Baker, Baker & Baker LLC

Privacy Policy

How this website handles personal information, cookies, and consultation inquiries. Effective September 25, 2026.

This policy describes how Baker, Baker & Baker LLC (“the firm,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal information through bakerlaw.us and any firm page that links to this policy (the “site”). It applies to visitors and to people who contact the firm through the site. It does not change the professional duties that apply if the firm agrees to represent you.

Information you give us

If you use a consultation form or otherwise contact the firm through the site, we collect the information you choose to send. That may include:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number, if you provide one
  • The type of legal matter you select
  • The message you write

Please do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through the site. Submitting a form, sending an email, or calling the firm does not create an attorney-client relationship. Information sent before the firm agrees to represent you may not be protected by the attorney-client privilege. Do not send information you consider confidential until an attorney-client relationship has been established.

Information collected automatically

The firm’s website host may keep ordinary server logs when you request a page. Those logs can include your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time of the request. The firm uses them to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site.

The email generated by a consultation form includes the IP address associated with that submission. The firm uses it to review the inquiry and to reduce spam.

The site does not use advertising cookies, social-media pixels, or analytics tools that follow you across other websites.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file a site or a third party stores on your device. Similar tools, such as local storage, can remember a choice in your browser without sending that choice to the firm.

  • This site’s own pages. The firm’s pages do not set tracking cookies and do not require an account.
  • Cookie notice. The notice at the bottom of the site explains this use of cookies. If you select “I Understand,” the site stores that acknowledgment in local storage on your device so the notice is not shown on every visit. That choice stays in your browser. It is not sent to the firm. Clearing site data for this website removes it, and the notice will appear again.
  • Google Maps. The homepage and the locations page embed Google Maps so you can see the Cleveland and Elyria offices. When a map loads, Google may set or read its own cookies and may receive technical information such as your IP address. Google’s use of that information is described in Google’s own policies. Direction links on those pages also open Google Maps in a separate destination.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how embedded maps display. The rest of the site, including the consultation forms, will still work.

How we use information

The firm uses personal information from the site to:

  • Respond to consultation requests and other inquiries
  • Consider whether the firm can assist with a matter, including conflicts and the type of case
  • Operate, maintain, and protect the site
  • Keep business records and meet legal and professional duties if you become a client

The firm does not sell personal information. The firm does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who receives information

The firm may share site information with:

  • Firm personnel who need it to review or respond to an inquiry
  • The email and website hosting providers that deliver the site and the inquiry message, and only for that purpose
  • Google, when an embedded map loads, as described above
  • A court, regulator, opposing party, or other person when the law requires it, or when needed to establish or defend a legal claim

If the firm agrees to represent you, information in your client file is handled under the firm’s professional obligations. Those obligations are separate from this website policy.

How long we keep it

Inquiry messages are kept long enough to respond and as part of the firm’s ordinary business records. If a client file is opened, the firm keeps that file for the period required by its professional obligations and applicable law. Server logs are kept on the schedule used by the website host.

Security

The firm uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a professional website. Email and other internet transmissions are not completely secure. Do not use the site forms for confidential or time-sensitive information.

Children

The site is a general audience website for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and the firm does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the site. Pages about juvenile law are written for parents and guardians. If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information through a form, contact the firm and we will delete it.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may choose not to use a form and may call either office instead.

You may ask the firm to provide, correct, or delete personal information you submitted through the site. Some records must be kept to complete a response, to meet professional recordkeeping duties, or where the law requires the firm to retain them. To make a request, email bakers@bakerlaw.us or write to the Cleveland office at the address above. Include enough detail for the firm to find the inquiry. The firm will respond as required by any privacy law that applies to your request.

Residents of states with consumer privacy statutes may have additional rights, such as the right to know about personal information collected from them and the right to appeal a denial, where that state’s law applies. The firm does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so a “do not sell or share” opt-out is not required for this site.

The site does not respond to a browser “Do Not Track” signal with a separate tracking profile, because the firm does not track visitors across other websites.

Links to other sites

Direction links leave this site and open a map provider. The firm is not responsible for the privacy practices of sites it does not operate.

Changes to this policy

The firm may update this policy by posting the new version on this page and changing the effective date. The posted version is the one that applies. Continued use of the site after an update means the updated policy applies to information collected after that date.
